Welcome message from our Program Director
Welcome to the TidalHealth Hematology & Medical Oncology Fellowship program. This is a combined three-year training program preparing fellows for ABIM board eligibility in both hematology and medical oncology certification. We offer two positions annually, with the goal of training outstanding subspecialists in hematology and medical oncology. Fellows will gain progressive autonomy and leadership opportunities as they excel through the clinical training experiences, which will prepare them for their future role in caring for diverse patient populations with cancer and blood disorders.
TidalHealth is well-known for its clinical excellence and has been recognized with national awards. TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and the TidalHealth Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute in Salisbury, Md., will be the primary training sites, with additional ambulatory rotations at the TidalHealth Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute location in Ocean Pines, Md., and the TidalHealth Allen Cancer Center in Seaford, Del. Fellows will do the required bone marrow transplant rotation during their second year at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md., where they will also have exposure to new technologies in stem cell transplantation and CAR T-cell therapy.
The TidalHealth Richard A. Henson Research Institute has a robust research infrastructure to support trainees in research methodologies, hypothesis development, study implementation and peer-reviewed publication. Research and clinical trials carried out by the research institute originate from its relationship with the Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Network, the National Cancer Institute and pharmaceutical/industry sponsors. The research institute provides strong collaborative research opportunities for the trainees. Fellows will be encouraged to pursue their research interests and future career goals with guidance from their faculty mentor and the resources of the Research Institute.
Our goal is to provide you with a strong knowledge base and the clinical tools needed to deliver excellent, patient-centered and compassionate care to patients with hematology and oncology diseases. Our dedicated faculty is committed to training future hematologists and oncologists, ensuring you are well-prepared for a rewarding career.
I look forward to meeting you and wish you the best in your career pursuit.
Sincerely,
Salahuddin Siddiqui, MD, FACP
