
Robert Chasse, MD, earned his medical degree and completed his internal medicine residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, graduating in 1986 and 1989. He completed his Pulmonary Fellowship at George Washington University in Washington DC 1989-1991 and his Critical Care fellowship in the Department of Anesthesia at Wake Forest/ Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston Salem NC 1991-1992. He was faculty in the Department of Pulmonary/CCM at Wake Forest 1992-1994. His research focus at that time was ventilator-induced lung injury. Dr. Chasse moved to Salisbury in 1994 for a private practice pulmonary/CCM position and has remained here ever since. Since his arrival, he has been involved in the Respiratory Therapy program at Salisbury University and serves as its Medical Director. In addition, Dr. Chasse is the TidalHealth medical director of the ICU, PFT lab, and the blood gas lab. He also holds other positions, including being the executive vice president of the National Board of Respiratory Care and an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine for PCOM. Dr. Chasse practices full-spectrum pulmonary and critical care medicine, including interventional pulmonology procedures. He is also board-certified in sleep medicine and participates in the sleep lab reading polysomnograms.
