Training Philosophy
The TidalHealth Postdoctoral Clinical Psychology Consortium offers training in health service psychology with a targeted focus in clinical psychology. Our training consortium offers several clinical settings/opportunities within a large medical center and affiliated medical sites, a group psychological practice, and a not-for-profit program for high-risk, underserved populations. Across sites, an emphasis is placed on a scientist-practitioner model in which assessment and empirical data drive treatment approaches and a collaborative care model. We also pride ourselves in utilizing holistic treatment approaches, integrating mental and behavioral health needs with physical health and the unique needs of every patient/family.
Our postdoctoral program offers a comprehensive and individually tailored approach to training including a wide variety of clinical experiences, didactics and educational experiences, and supervision with a wide range of providers from different training backgrounds. We aim to prepare fellows to become well-rounded and highly competent psychologists across a variety of settings within our consortium and the greater community. Fellows will become part of a multidisciplinary team, experts within the areas in which they choose to specialize, prepared to sit for licensure, and on the path to becoming leaders within the field of psychology. While certain clinical services are expected, several optional experiences are offered to enhance the education of each fellow, allowing for advanced training in more unique and specialized services. Lastly, we place great emphasis on understanding diversity and offering culturally sensitive approaches.
