
POCUS
Our IntelligentUltrasound trainer is arguably the best high-fidelity ultrasound trainer in the world.
Trainees start with a two-hour didactics class, followed by two hours of simulator training, then do POCUS on human subjects followed by a testing session where they apply their newly acquired POCUS skills to acquire and interpret ultrasound images in varied simulated clinical scenarios. They also receive a quick reference PDF to help them practice POCUS correctly on their patients after the successful completion of this training.
Cardiology and Critical Care Fellows learn advanced TTE and TEE on this simulator.
Surgery residents learn e-FAST and RUSH protocols during their training.
Ultrasounds are available at multiple locations for graduates of this course to keep performing bedside ultrasounds under the guidance of qualified attendings.

The TidalHealth Center for Medical Training and Simulation houses a Surgical Science Endo-mentor suite which is the Gold Standard evidence-based virtual reality simulator for endoscopic training.
Courses are taught by providers who have done thousands of these procedures and are experts in their fields.
Cardiac Catheterization and endo vascular procedures
TidalHealth Simulation Center has recently acquired Mentice VIST G7 - the first medical simulator with haptic feedback and virtual reality to cover the entire patient.
This endovascular trainer allows students to use real medical devices to perform all vascular catheterization procedures from stroke related clot retrieval to aortic and arterial stenting to cardiac catheterization, TAVR, Watchman and trans-septal puncture.
Advanced Airway Management
This is a hands on course which takes trainees through oxygenation, bag-mask ventilation, LMA/King LT Supra-glottic airway, Direct Laryngoscopy, Video MacGrath Laryngoscopy, Glidescope Laryngoscopy and use of airway adjuncts to ensure successful intubation everytIme. Trainees leave with a PDF hand-out designed to facilitate retention of knowledge gained during this intense course. The center has a dedicated Glidescope for training 24 x 7 and is well equipped with training supplies for airway management at all times.
The Michael McCutcheon Advanced Surgical Airway Course
Image 6, PictureThis course is limited to anesthesia, surgery, critical care, ER and trauma providers. Taught at an accessible cadaver lab, this course prepares trainees to successfully perform emergency cricothyrotomy and percutaneous tracheostomy, if needed, to save a life.
All our task trainers are ultrasound-compatible. The simulation center has a top-of-the- line GE Vivid E9 Ultrasound available for trainee use 24/7.

We use animal tissue for realistic training in surgical chest tube placements and an anatomy lab mannequin for training in guidewire-based pleural procedures.
OB/GYN and pediatric skills and emergencies
The TidalHealth Center for Medical Training and Simulation houses numerous task trainers and also has the advanced NOELLE Birthing Simulator with maternal and neonatal resuscitation training with baby Tory. We also house a baby Anne simulator and a low-fidelity child CPR and intubation trainer.

- The FlexVR® virtual reality training platform is designed to teach basic and advanced skills for robotic surgery to a wider audience, from medical students to experienced surgeons. The FlexVR allows trainees to quickly learn the fundamentals of robotic surgery, such as wristed instrument manipulation, camera control, clutching, energy control, needle driving, and suturing. The system comes with ready-to- use curriculum packages and more than 100 training exercises
General surgery skills training
Apart from the suture station, the TidalHealth Center for Medical Training and Simulation has two FLS trainers with ample supplies for regular self-directed practice with guidance from simulation center trainers.
Every surgical intern is also provided with a take-home box so they can keep up on their skills.
