John Hamilton, MD graduated with honors from Ross University School of Medicine and completed his anesthesia residency at the University of Massachusetts.
He joined the U.S. Navy after graduation and was stationed at Walter Reed Medical Center. While there, he was a core faculty member responsible for training anesthesia residents.
He served in Afghanistan as a critical wartime specialist, managing traumatic injuries sustained in combat. He later completed his fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in adult cardiothoracic anesthesia. He is double board-certified in anesthesiology and advanced echocardiography.
Dr. Hamilton is a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. He joined the department in 2017 and currently serves as chairman.
