
Joseph H. Kim, DO, FAAFP, has been a traditional family physician in Laurel, Del., since his completion of residency in 2007. He has served in numerous leadership positions at TidalHealth Nanticoke, including Family Practice department chair, bylaws chair, and president of medical staff. He currently is the credentials chair for the hospital as well as the medical director for Primary Care, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, and Nephrology for TidalHealth. He has trained medical students and residents since 2007 and is a clinical assistant professor at PCOM and SKMC.
Dr. Kim received his undergraduate degree from Salisbury University and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed his family medicine residency at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Del., and served as chief resident.
Dr. Kim currently serves as the Delaware alternate delegate for the American Academy of Family Physicians Congress of Delegates. In addition to his medical leadership roles, he is a board member for the Bryan Allen Stevenson School of Excellence. Dr. Kim also founded his family’s charitable foundation, the Kim and Evans Family Foundation, Inc., with the mission to better the lives of disadvantaged people and animals in Sussex County, Del., and beyond.
