With the upcoming retirement of Diane Hitchens, who has been the long serving Senior Director of TidalHealth's Women's and Children's Division, I am thrilled to announce that Claire Wright will be the next Director of Women's and Children's Services for the health system.
Claire has a long history with the organization, starting out as a candy striper in 1993 and was both and intern and an extern while attending nursing school. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2003 and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2019. Claire's career has been spent exclusively on our Labor and Delivery (L & D) unit in Salisbury. During that time, she earned her National Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics and in External Fetal Monitoring. She has successfully managed L & D at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional since 2015.
Under her leadership, the unit achieved remarkable milestones, including the Healthgrades clinical excellence award in Vaginal and Cesarean Section Deliveries. Her proactive involvement in quality initiatives with the Maryland Perinatal Quality Collaborative and facilitation of monthly OB Joint Professional Practice meetings has consistently ensured exceptional performance and quality metrics.
Claire is well-known for her leadership in fostering high-performing teams, enhancing patient care, and driving continuous quality improvement. With a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaborative communication skills, she is committed to creating a positive work environment and strengthening interprofessional relationships across the system. I am confident that her vast experience, dedication, and passion for quality healthcare will lead the division to new heights.
Please join me in welcoming Claire to her new role.
