October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. This month, please consider supporting the Special Treasures Are Remembered (STAR) program at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. This program was created in 1998 by TidalHealth nurse Maryrose Custer who saw the need in our community.
The mission of the STAR program is to serve the needs of parents and families who have suffered the loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or infant death. With help from the community, the program provides families with personalized keepsakes that they can cherish forever, and support through various resources and annual events including a Memory Walk in October and a Candlelight Memorial Service in December.
