TidalHealth staff are committed to saving and healing lives through organ, eye and tissue donation.
In 2024, TidalHealth worked with Infinite Legacy — a nonprofit organ procurement organization (OPO) serving almost 10 million people in Maryland and the Metro DC area — to facilitate 51 organ, eye and tissue donors and 42 organ transplants. These gifts will save and heal hundreds of lives. In addition, there were 18 Donors In-Spirit who intended to be donors; however, their organs or tissues were deemed not viable or transplantable.
There is a critical need for organ donors as more than 100,000 people in the United States are currently waiting for a lifesaving transplant. Just one organ, eye and tissue donor can save and heal more than 75 lives.
