Team Members of the Month

Congratulations to our TidalHealth Primary and Specialty Care Team Members of the Month for October!

Kara Lathbury, MA, TidalHealth OB/GYN,

Kara was nominated by Dr. Abha Gupta, MD. She was recognized for the values of Service, Accountability, Quality and Community.

In her nomination, Dr. Gupta wrote, ”Kara has been instrumental in my ability to provide excellent care for our patients. She has an excellent can-do attitude that is so hard to find. She looks for positive in every situation. Not only is she dependable, motivated with a great work ethic and a fantastic team player, she goes out of her way to help our patients.

Recently one of my elderly patients told me how instrumental Kara was in helping her navigate the medical system. She recounted that she had called our office to get an appointment and during her conversation with Kara, she was venting about some issues she was having scheduling some labs /test (unrelated to gyn care).

She was very frustrated, feeling challenged to get help and was not tech savvy. Going out of her way, Kara obtained all the information and made a few telephone calls and obtained the answers to the patient’s questions. The patient was so grateful, she spent much of her appointment telling me how thankful she was for the help she received and acknowledged the fact that Kara did not have to help her as we had not ordered those tests. 

At the end of the visit, I asked her if there was anything else she needed, she smiled and very confidently told me that if she did, she knew she could just call Kara. A sentiment that is echoed by numerous patients’ time and again. She always goes above and beyond to help our patients. Her efficiency, willingness to go that extra mile without being asked to, always with a smile has endeared her to both the staff and the patients.

Kara embodies the saying ‘excellence is not a skill, it’s an attitude.’ Her positive attitude, her can-do philosophy and her desire to go out of her way to help patients, visitors and staff alike set her apart from everyone.”

Bianca Diehl, PSR, TidalHealth Primary Care Berlin,  

Bianca was nominated by Melissa Harrison. She was recognized for the value of Quality, Service, Accountability and Community.

In her nomination, Melissa stated,” I am recommending Biance for Team Member of the Month because of her dedication and willingness to go the extra mile each and every day for patients and coworkers.

Biance has taken it upon herself to create Manuals to help PSR’s with their job. She also organized all paperwork that helps each of us do our jobs. She provides tech support and EPIC training (electronic medical record) to anyone who may need it or who has questions. All of this is done while keeping a “can do” and positive attitude.

In addition, Biance has taken it upon herself to ensure that our office has all the necessary supplies.

Bianca’s calm and soothing manner put the patients at ease, even when patients are nervous or upset. She has the ability to solve most problems, which leaves the patients feeling very satisfied. Bianca is a huge asset to our office.”
