TidalHealth Primary Care and TidalHealth Specialty Care are pleased to announce Laura Bones (pictured right) and Kiara Jackson (pictured left) are their Team Members of the Month for August 2024.
Laura Bones, Patient Service Representative, TidalHealth Primary Care in Crisfield
Bones was nominated by Julie Thornton and Dr. Mike Adkins for demonstrating the values of accountability, community, quality and service:
”An upset patient presented to the office to check in and immediately raised their voice at the two Patient Service Representatives at the front desk.
Dr. Atkins was called to the front to assist in de-escalating this patient, however when he presented to the front, he witnessed Laura’s calm demeanor and mentioned the situation no longer needed his assistance. Laura promptly and professionally documented the encounter in the medical record.
Laura’s ability to remain calm, patient, and non-reactive during these difficult encounters is commendable. She is a bright light to all who walk through the doors for patients, visitors and staff alike! You can always count on her to have a smile on her face and a cheerful greeting no matter the time of day. If you’re lucky, you may even get to hear one of her 'dad jokes' to cheer you up!"

Jackson was nominated by Tyler Hastings for demonstrating the values of accountability, community, quality and service:
”Kiara is an incredible and selfless person who always puts others before herself.
We recently had a patient come into the office who didn’t have an appointment. They were inquiring about a diabetic device and had fallen off their bike on the way to the office.
When I went to inform one of the nurses of the patient's injuries, Kiara offered to assist the patient without hesitation. She took the patient to an empty patient room and attended to their wounds.
This is just one example of Kiara’s consistent kindness and patient focus. She is awesome, caring and a true value to the office!"
