Truist recently made a $150,000 contribution to the TidalHealth Foundation through its SPARK campaign in support of the Edward Q. Wilgus Community Clinic, which is currently under construction in the E. Church St. neighborhood of Salisbury, Md. Truist provided the grant through the Truist Charitable Fund, a donor-advised fund administered by The Winston-Salem Foundation.
“This contribution not only reflects Truist’s commitment to social responsibility but also underscores the collective effort needed to address healthcare disparities,” said Jessica Hales, President of the TidalHealth Foundation. “With this partnership, we are poised to enhance access to quality care and make a lasting impact on the health of individuals and families in our community.”
The Edward Q. Wilgus Community Clinic, TidalHealth’s newest primary care office, is strategically located in an historically underserved area of the city and will also be home base for the health system’s internal medicine resident physicians. It’s expected to generate between 12,000 and 15,000 visits per year.
"Our purpose at Truist is to inspire and build better lives and communities,” said Greg Tawes, Market President for the Eastern Shore region. “We are proud to support the TidalHealth Foundation and its mission to address health disparities in our neighborhoods.”
TidalHealth’s latest primary care office is intended to bridge the gap between the neighborhood and healthcare, reconnect residents to resources, stimulate residential development and reduce emergency department usage for general medical needs.
