About Apeksha Ghumatkar

I am a third-year medical student at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, and I am returning to my hometown, Salisbury, Md., for my third year of clinical rotations.

Passionate about the intersection of biology and medicine, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology from Salisbury University in 2021.

During my time at Salisbury University, I delved into the realms of research, collaborating with the Department of Psychology. Beyond academics, I serve as a volunteer for the Crisis Text Line, to support those in need.

Beyond the hospital, I enjoy practicing yoga at local studios, reading, and taking care of  my cat, Mowgli, and my many houseplants.

My interest is in internal medicine, with a specific focus on endocrinology. Throughout my preclinical years, I was fascinated to learn about the endocrine system. As a third year, I enjoyed seeing TidalHealth’s innovative treatments and patient-centered approach to care. I am looking forward to learning about the intricacies of all of the specialties throughout my clinical rotations at TidalHealth.
