About Cynthia Calixte, MD - Primary Care Education Coordinator

Cynthia Calixte, MD, MPH, is the medical director of the Salisbury/Wicomico Integrated Firstcare Team (SWIFT) at TidalHealth. She also is an attending physician for the Family Medicine Residency Clinic in Salisbury, Maryland.

Dr. Calixte earned her medical degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Science Center. She received her Master of Public Health from the City University of New York (CUNY) Health Policy School of Public Health. She completed her internship and residency in family and community medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, and then completed a reproductive health fellowship - Empire Clinical Research Investigator Program, at the Institute for Family Health in New York. 

Dr. Calixte is a board-certified family physician and a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the American College of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the Maryland Academy of Family Physicians (MDAFP).

Dr. Calixte, who has authored several publications, comes with a wealth of clinical experience as well as a background in resident and fellow training. She is a member of the Maryland Commission on Health Equity, where she advises state officials on issues pertaining to racial, ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic health disparities.

Dr. Calixte is fluent in English and Haitian Creole and is proficient in French.
