About Jacques Conaway, MD - Teaching Faculty

Jacques Conaway, MD, completed his residency in internal medicine at NYU Medical Center, Bellevue Hospital Center in 1995, where he went on to complete his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine in 1998.  He completed his research fellowship in sleep medicine at the NYU Medical Center Sleep Disorders Center in 1999.  Dr. Conaway is certified in sleep medicine, critical care medicine and pulmonary disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has diplomate status with the American Board of Sleep Medicine.    

Dr. Conaway was one of the founding members of the Maryland Sleep Society, which was organized in 2009. He has provided expert analysis on sleep disorders for media outlets in the Baltimore metro region for several years.  He has also held academic roles as faculty medical director for multiple sleep centers, including those at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center, MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, MedStar Harbor Hospital and University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center.  

Dr. Conaway has received many honors and awards, including Baltimore Magazine’s Top Doctors Peer Survey, recognized as both Top Pulmonary and Sleep Disorder Specialist for seven years. He also believes strongly in the importance of civic engagement and served on a community advisory board for Harford County, Md. for many years.
