About Leena Kasa

I am a third-year medical student at Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine. I have an undergraduate degree in both Biology and Environmental Science from Widener University in Chester, PA. I also received a master's in public health from the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating, I worked as a research coordinator at the VA Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP) on an implementation project focused on safer aging for older, low-income veterans across Pennsylvania. While in medical school, I continued participating in public health related activities, including working with an ED physician at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on a quality improvement project looking for disparities in an intimate partner violence screening program and volunteering for Baby's Best Start, a family education and resource program for new and expecting parents.

Outside of academic pursuits, I enjoy doing crossword puzzles and yoga. I also enjoy spending time in nature, so I'm looking forward to all the outdoor activities the eastern shore has to offer. I'm excited to be continuing my education at Tidal Health and also being a part of the Salisbury community for the next year!
