About Mark Edney, MD - Teaching Faculty

Mark Edney, MD, has been a urologist at TidalHealth for 20 years. He has also served as an instructor in the physician assistant program at University of Maryland Eastern Shore.    

Dr. Edney attended St. Anselm College in Manchester, N.H., and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. He earned his medical degree and completed his urology residency training at Dartmouth. Dr. Edney has been active in state and federal level health policy and advocacy on behalf of the American Urological Association, and he is the incoming chair of the AUA Public Policy Council. He is a past Business of Urology section editor for the Urology Practice Journal.  

Dr. Edney was an Army reservist in the Medical Corps for the first 12 years of his career in Salisbury. He was pulled to active-duty tours on three occasions – first to Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2004, then to Mosul, Iraq, with the 399th Combat Support Hospital in 2006, and finally to Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii in 2009.
