Michael Costa

Michael Costa was appointed Vice President, General Counsel in January 2025. He leads the organization’s legal team and provides strategic legal counsel to ensure the continued success and growth of TidalHealth. 

Costa brings to TidalHealth a wealth of experience in healthcare law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance spanning 27 years; 20 of those as General Counsel building and leading internal law departments.  

With a proven track record of leadership in complex legal matters, including six years of corporate law experience at the largest law firm in the United States, Costa is an invaluable asset in supporting TidalHealth’s mission to deliver exceptional care to the communities it serves. 

He is a Cum Laude graduate of the Suffolk University Law School where he received his Juris Doctor. Costa also graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Public Health degree from Boston University School of Public Health. 

Among his many professional affiliations, he is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Association of Health Lawyers.  

Costa is also certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security by the American Health Information Management Association, and the recipient of multiple business, healthcare and legal accomplishment awards.
