About Vijay Karumbunathan, MD - Geriatrics Education Coordinator

Vijay Karumbunathan, MD, comes from TidalHealth McCready Pavilion, previously Edward McCready Memorial Hospital, where he served as the president of the medical staff, as well as medical director for Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation. He is responsible for training residents and medical students, physician assistant students and nurse practitioner students from several universities, such as University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine and Walden University College of Nursing.  

He also serves as a volunteer faculty member of the Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Karumbunathan has a special interest in both internal and family medicine and geriatrics. He provides care for inpatient, outpatient, homebound and nursing home patients.  

Dr. Karumbunathan earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College in Madras, India. He was a graduate resident in the Department of Anesthesiology at Kasturba Medical College in Manipal, India.  

He completed his residency at Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson, Md., where he was chief resident of internal medicine.
