Samir Ahmed, MD earned his medical degree from the University of Medical Sciences & Technology in Khartoum, Sudan; completed his first internal medicine residency at Zayad Military Hospital in Abu Dhabi; completed his second internal medicine residency at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Md.; and completed his endocrinology and diabetes fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Ariz.
Dr. Ahmed is board-certified in internal medicine and a member of the Royal College of Physicians, American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, American Diabetes Association, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and Sudanese American Medical Association.
Dr. Ahmed served as Chief Resident while at the Zayad Military Hospital and was also awarded the Profiles in Excellence Award by the Chief Residents Association of Baltimore. He has led several peer-reviewed publications and case presentations, earning him recognition as best resident of the year, best resident in research, and best resident in documentation.
