Vision Statement
We will build and operate a nationally recognized and accredited center that significantly impacts our patient care for generations to come by providing effective, full-spectrum simulation-based training for acquisition and retention of the highest levels of dynamic clinical decision making, psychomotor procedural skills, and professionalism by our trainees via guided and deliberate practice in a structured, safe, engaging, and motivating interprofessional learning environment.
Mission Statement
The TidalHealth Center for Medical Training and Simulation improves community health through high-quality, compassionate, team-based, simulation-driven education and innovation that develops clinicians, supports faculty, advances patient safety and system reliability, enables research and competency assessment, and inspires the next generation of healthcare professionals
For Novice Trainees, we bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-life clinical practice via highly realistic and immersive clinical scenarios designed to enhance their clinical, interpersonal, communication, leadership and technical skills in a multidisciplinary practice environment, in service of improving the health of the communities we serve.
For Practicing Clinicians, we promote the concept of lifelong learning and professional development by creating specialty-specific, evidence-based, personalized learning experiences with individualized and targeted feedback and remediation to refine acquired skills, grounded in accountability and commitment to quality. For our Patients, we reduce variation in clinical practice and improve patient outcomes by elevating quality of care, reliability, and team collaboration by strengthening our patient-safety oriented culture rooted in honor and compassion.
For our Teaching Faculty, we provide peer support, ongoing mentorship and training in curriculum development, instructional design, learner assessment, debriefing, and simulation technology in which we codesign full and meaningful integration of simulation-based training into curricula to facilitate the best possible trainee performance in the real world through connection and teamwork.
For our Population, we earn and sustain the highest trust in our healthcare system by demonstrating our resolve to not let our patients bear any burden of our responsibility to train novice clinicians, supporting TidalHealth’s role as a trusted leader in health and wellness.
For our Hospital System, we eliminate silos by promoting constant and full interprofessional collaboration in education and clinical practice. We set system-wide standards for competency-based testing for the grant of clinical privileges and serve as the testing site for innovative technologies and new workflow processes that support world-class care.
For our Researchers, we support study in development of new techniques, technologies, educational methodology, clinical outcomes, and quality improvement that build healthier communities for generations to come.
For the Next Generation, we inspire, guide, and promote school and college students to join the healthcare industry and become our next and improved version of medical care providers.
