Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neuromuscular condition that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord responsible for muscle movement. Over time, it can lead to muscle weakness and paralysis.
TidalHealth’s ALS clinic supports people living with this challenging disease through a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach. Our team includes neurologists, pulmonologists, dietitians, therapists, nurse navigators, social workers, and chaplains. We work together to streamline care, allowing you to see the specialists and therapists you need in a single visit, while also integrating support services into your care plan.
We also offer a monthly support group for people with ALS and their caregivers. This group provides a safe space to share experiences, learn, and connect with others who understand the challenges of living with ALS.
