Clinical Training
Fellows will gain experience in the following settings:
- Inpatient consult services: Fellows will provide consultations at the hospital managing a diverse range of complex infectious diseases in ICU and the general medicine floor that include HIV/AIDS and HIV related opportunistic infections, endocarditis, meningitis, neurosurgical and orthopedic infections and post-surgical infections, malaria, dengue.
- Outpatient clinic: Fellows will train in weekly clinic managing chronic infectious diseases that include HIV, hepatitis C and hepatitis B infections and manage tropical diseases such as parasitic infections and provide pre-travel vaccinations.
- Immunocompromised patient care: Fellows will rotate through University of Maryland transplant unit and manage patients on chemotherapy and solid organ transplants.
Pediatric and OB/GYN care: Patient will rotate through Nemours Children's hospital for rotation in pediatric infectious diseases and Anne Arundel Center for OB/GYN rotation.
