If you are a resident or fellow currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. graduate medical education program, you may be eligible to rotate at TidalHealth during an elective rotation. We are not currently accepting requests for program-required rotations.

Medical Residents & Fellows
All visiting medical residents and fellows must submit the following documentation before beginning any clinical activities at TidalHealth.
Requesting a Rotation
- Submit a request on the Medical Visiting Resident/Fellow Request Form at least 90 days before the start of the desired rotation.
- A representative of TidalHealth Graduate Medical Education will respond to the email address provided with information regarding your requested rotation.
- While efforts will be made to accommodate your request, your requested rotation may not be available.
- Evaluation and documentation of the clinical rotation must be maintained by the sponsoring physician and provided to TidalHealth Graduate Medical Education for record keeping.
- All visiting medical residents and fellows must submit the following documentation before beginning any clinical activities at TidalHealth.
Rotation Schedule Requirement
Rotation schedule provided by the Home Program and coordinated with TidalHealth in advance for the entire duration of the rotation, including all assigned dates, shifts, clinical activities and procedural or operating room time.
Application & Required Documentation
1. Letter From Current Program (on official program letterhead)
The letter must include the following required information:
- Verification of good standing
- Written approval of the specific clinical rotation
- Exact rotation dates
- Verification of health/immunization status (see list below)
Rotation Goals & Objective (ACGME Core Competencies)
Programs must provide competency-based goals and objectives for the rotation. These should align with ACGME Core Competencies or equivalent program standards:
- Patient Care:
- Medical Knowledge:
- Practice-Based Learning and Improvement:
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills:
- Professionalism:
- Systems-Based Practice:
Programs may paste their own objectives or attach a PDF.
2. Required Health & Immunization Documentation
- MMR – two vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella – two vaccines or positive titer (history of disease not accepted)
TB Screening:
— If submitting PPD (TB skin tests): Two completed PPD tests within the past 12 months are required.
— QuantiFERON, TB Gold test is strongly preferred (must be within last 12 months)
- TDAP within the past 10 years
- COVID19 vaccine + boosters
- Influenza vaccine (required October–April)
3. Screening Requirements
- Background check – initial from home program OR completed within past 12 months
- Nine-panel drug screen – completed within past 12 months
4. Additional Required Documents
- BLS card (American Heart Association)
- Liability coverage letter (LOI) from sponsoring institution
- Copy of current program ID badge
- Driver’s license or state-issued ID
- Current CV, which will only be accepted in MM/DD/YYYY format. The CV must include the following:
- Medical school name, graduation date (MM/DD/YYYY)
- ECFMG number & certification date (if applicable)
- All gap periods with exact dates + explanation
- Complete residency/fellowship history with exact dates
- IRP designation if first year of U.S. residency
Review Process
If your request is accepted, you will be required to complete the following items:
- TidalHealth rotator agreement
- TidalHealth Contractor Badge Form
- Confidentiality statement
- IT acceptable use policy consent
- Onboarding through MedHub
- All assigned tasks must be completed before the start date
- Evaluations will be completed in MedHub during/after the rotation
- All rotators must be cleared by TidalHealth Employee Health prior to participating in any clinical activities. Employee Health clearance includes review of all required health documentation and completion of N95 respirator fit test during onboarding.

- Must include complete training history with exact dates
- Must include all gaps in training, with dates + explanation

- TidalHealth Contractor Badge Form
