Grow with us: Meet Lisa Tull

Growing through care and leadership at TidalHealth

At TidalHealth, growth happens through experience, opportunity and the people who inspire us along the way. For Lisa Tull, MSN, MHA, RN, NHA, nursing home administrator at Alice B. Tawes Nursing & Rehabilitation, that journey has been defined by resilience, leadership and a commitment to quality care.

Tull began her career as an Emergency Department nurse, where she learned the importance of adaptability, teamwork and compassionate care in a fast-paced environment. Those experiences laid the groundwork for leadership roles as clinical supervisor, nurse manager and director of nursing, ultimately leading to her current role as nursing home administrator.

“Each role provided new opportunities to grow,” Tull shared. “Whether it was leading teams, improving clinical outcomes or strengthening operations, every experience helped shape my approach to leadership.”

While her responsibilities have evolved, lessons from the emergency room remain central to how she leads today.

“One of the most important things I still carry from my early days in the ER is the ability to stay calm under pressure, prioritize effectively and always advocate for patients,” she said.

She had plenty of support from her team as she grew in the healthcare field.

“As I progressed through my roles, I realized I wanted to expand my ability to influence care beyond the bedside,” she explained. “I was fortunate to work alongside leaders who encouraged me to grow and helped me see my potential.”

That encouragement, paired with TidalHealth’s investment in professional development, made continued education and advancement feel achievable.

When asked what has kept her at TidalHealth, Tull points to shared values and strong teamwork.

“TidalHealth’s mission, vision and values align with my own core beliefs,” she shared. “I value being part of a team that is supportive, collaborative and focused on continuous improvement.”

She also credits the teamwork she experienced as an ED nurse as a defining part of her journey.

“In such a fast-paced and high-pressure setting, everyone came together with a shared sense of purpose and commitment,” Tull reflected. “That experience taught me the importance of communication, collaboration, and supporting one another.”

For those early in their careers, Tull encourages staying engaged and embracing opportunity.

“This organization recognizes potential and supports development at every stage,” she said. “TidalHealth provides the tools and opportunities; you just have to be willing to take the next step.”

Tull continues to lead by example, recently completing both her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Master of Health Administration (MHA) degrees.

Her journey reflects the power of mentorship, perseverance and purpose-driven leadership, showing what’s possible when passion for care and a commitment to growth come together.
