MyChart Bedside makes hospital care easier

Maybe you’ve used MyChart to make appointments or request prescription refills, but now, TidalHealth’s three hospitals — TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, TidalHealth Nanticoke and TidalHealth Atlantic — also offer MyChart Bedside, which can be used while you’re in the hospital.    

TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury and TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford began offering MyChart Bedside earlier this year, and TidalHealth Atlantic in Berlin, formerly Atlantic General Hospital, began offering it when the health system started using Epic as its electronic health record this month.    

When you are admitted as a patient at TidalHealth, MyChart Bedside is activated automatically when using the MyChart mobile app. If you don’t already have MyChart, you can learn more and install the app at tidalhealth.org/MyChart.  

With MyChart Bedside, you can see medical and educational information, communicate with staff about things such as plans or comfort items, and help loved ones if given permission to be a patient proxy. Nurses can use MyChart Bedside to assign educational videos to patients, too.

In addition to MyChart Bedside, for use in the hospital, the MyChart app can also be used for setting up outpatient appointments, requesting prescription refills, and messaging your practitioners with questions.  

MyChart allows patients to check test results, read summaries of past appointments, see upcoming appointments and pay bills.  

TidalHealth Atlantic and the network of associated healthcare practices are also now using MyChart, making it easier for patients to access their health information all in one place.
