Seaford Daisy Awardee: July 2026
TidalHealth Nanticoke is proud to announce that Jocelyn Delcid, RN, of the Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU), has been selected as a DAISY Award recipient for July.
Delcid was nominated by a patient who described her as “a light in what could have been a dark place” throughout their hospital stay. From the beginning, her kindness, compassion and knowledge provided a sense of comfort and reassurance during an uncertain time.
Throughout each shift, Delcid made a point to check in whenever she passed the patient’s room, asking if anything was needed and making sure the patient was comfortable. Following tests, she shared information as it became available and offered reassurance while the patient waited to speak with the doctor, helping ease the worry that can come with waiting for results.
“Her level of concern for my wellbeing was exemplary,” the patient shared.
Even while constantly moving throughout the unit and caring for others, Delcid never made the patient feel overlooked. Her attentiveness and genuine concern made a lasting impression.
“Some people are born with natural talents. If anyone was born to be a caregiver, Jocelyn certainly is one,” the patient shared. “She is a natural and a model anyone should aspire to be like.”
Delcid’s ability to bring comfort, reassurance and compassion to her patients exemplifies the extraordinary nursing care celebrated through the DAISY Award.
Delcid was recognized during a ceremony attended by her colleagues and was presented with a DAISY Award certificate, DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved Healer's Touch sculpture. Her nomination serves as a powerful reminder of the extraordinary difference nurses make through both their clinical expertise and compassionate care.
