Seaford DAISY Awardee: June 2026

TidalHealth Nanticoke is proud to announce that Jeanne Moore, RN, of the TidalHealth Allen Cancer Center, has been selected as a DAISY Award recipient.

Moore was nominated by the daughter of a cancer patient who shared how Moore's attentiveness, clinical expertise, and genuine compassion made a lasting impact on their family.

During a routine immunotherapy appointment, Jeannie noticed a concerning difference in the patient's blood pressure readings between his arms. Recognizing his history of stroke and heart disease, she took the time to explain her concerns to both the patient and his daughter, encouraging him to follow up with his physician and seek immediate medical attention if he experienced symptoms such as chest pain or shortness of breath.

Just one week later, the patient began feeling unwell while out with friends. Remembering Moore's advice, he recognized that something was wrong and sought emergency care. He was transported to the hospital, where physicians confirmed he was having a heart attack caused by a significant blockage.

Although she was not assigned to his care during subsequent visits, Moore continued to check on him regularly, offering encouragement, support, and heartfelt concern throughout his recovery. After learning that the blockage had been successfully treated, she celebrated the news alongside the patient and his family, sharing tears, hugs, and gratitude for his improved health. She wrote, "Jeannie not only took care of my dad medically, but emotionally too. We are forever grateful for her care, support, and love. She is one of our angels on earth."

Moore was recognized during a ceremony attended by her colleagues and was presented with a DAISY Award certificate, DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved Healer's Touch sculpture. Her nomination serves as a powerful reminder of the extraordinary difference nurses make through both their clinical expertise and compassionate care.
