TidalHealth launches TidalHealth Peninsula Orthopaedic Institute

TidalHealth today announced the launch of the TidalHealth Peninsula Orthopaedic Institute, reflecting a unified approach to orthopedic and musculoskeletal care across the Delmarva Peninsula.

The Institute brings together former Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates locations — which will remain independent, physician-owned practices — with TidalHealth orthopedic clinics, imaging, inpatient and trauma services, and rehabilitation to provide a comprehensive care experience. While under a new name, patients will receive seamless care from initial evaluation and imaging through surgery, rehabilitation and long-term follow-up, regardless of where they enter the system.

The Institute brings specialized orthopedic care close to home through a multidisciplinary team of fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and rehabilitation specialists. With same-day appointments and orthopedic urgent care services available to address injuries and acute concerns, patients can avoid unnecessary emergency department visits and return to normal activities sooner.

Care across the Institute is supported by shared governance, standardized clinical protocols and the Epic electronic medical record, enabling real-time information sharing and continuity of care across the system.

Looking ahead, TidalHealth plans to expand access with new TidalHealth Peninsula Orthopaedic Institute clinic locations in Seaford and Millsboro, Delaware, and enhanced orthopedic services at TidalHealth Atlantic in Berlin.
