Ali Khalil, MD, ABP, CPHQ is associate program director of the TidalHealth Psychiatry Residency Program and provides care at TidalHealth Outpatient Behavioral Health in Salisbury, Maryland.
Dr. Khalil received his medical degree from Asyut University in Egypt and completed residency training and a forensic psychiatry fellowship at Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar, prior to completing his residency training at Jefferson - Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.
Throughout his career, Dr. Khalil has founded and led local and global initiatives to improve access to mental healthcare and reduce the stigma of mental illness.
Dr. Khalil is a multi-award-winning psychiatrist who brings over a decade of local and global experience to TidalHealth. He authored and published several research papers on raising mental health awareness, reducing mental illness stigma and improving access to mental health care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Khalil is a certified performance and quality improvement professional. He has successfully led several system and policy changes designed to ensure better clinical outcomes and more efficient patient care.
Dr. Khalil prides himself on being a holistic psychiatrist. He treats his patients in a compassionate manner, tending to their psychological, physical, and social well-being to ensure a comprehensive path to recovery.
Dr. Khalil is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association, the World Psychiatric Association and the European Psychiatric Association.
In his time off, he enjoys reading, traveling, camping, and spending time near the beach.
