Joy Davala, PT, DPT, provides outpatient physical therapy for patients of all ages with nonsurgical and postoperative orthopedic conditions at TidalHealth Peninsula Orthopaedic Institute Physical Therapy. She specializes in treating conditions affecting the spine.
Davala develops each treatment plan around the patient’s individual needs, limitations and goals. She also teaches patients practical strategies they can use outside of therapy to manage their condition, support continued progress and move more confidently through daily life.
Care philosophy
Davala believes a collaborative approach between patients, therapists and physicians leads to better care. Drawing on her extensive experience in orthopedics, she works closely with each patient to improve mobility, reduce pain and support a return to meaningful activities.
Her goal is to help patients improve their quality of life while ensuring they feel informed, respected, heard and supported throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Outside of her work
Davala has lived on the Eastern Shore with her family for more than 25 years. Outside of work, she enjoys attending her sons’ performances and sporting events. She also enjoys restoring and refinishing furniture.
