Mary Ryman, OTR/L, CHT, is a certified hand therapist and upper extremity rehabilitation specialist at TidalHealth Peninsula Orthopaedic Institute. She cares for patients with shoulder, arm, wrist and hand injuries, both before and after surgery.
Mary treats a variety of conditions, including fractures, tendon injuries, tendinopathies and nerve conditions. She also provides custom orthosis fabrication for the upper extremities when requested by a physician.
Mary is committed to helping patients recover hand and upper extremity function so they can return to daily activities, self-care, work and the things that matter most to them. She strives to make each patient feel comfortable during evaluation and treatment, using a collaborative approach to set goals based on what is most important to the patient.

Mary Ryman, OTR/L, CHT, brings more than 30 years of experience in occupational therapy, with a specialized focus on upper extremity and hand rehabilitation. Her care philosophy centers on providing personalized, patient-focused therapy that helps patients regain function, independence and confidence in their daily activities.
Mary works closely with each patient to understand their goals, develop an individualized treatment plan and provide education and support throughout the recovery process. She is committed to making sure patients feel informed, encouraged and empowered as they work toward their best possible outcome.
Outside of Her Work
Outside of work, Mary enjoys gardening, traveling, quilting and spending time with family and friends.
