Michelle Sleighter, MPT, provides physical therapy services for patients at TidalHealth Peninsula Orthopaedic Institute in the Ocean Pines office. She earned her Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in 1998 and has extensive experience evaluating patients and developing individualized treatment programs.
Michelle cares for patients with general orthopedic conditions, postsurgical orthopedic needs and sports-related injuries. As a former competitive multi-sport athlete, she has a special interest in sports rehabilitation.
Michelle believes a successful therapy experience begins with trust, respect and a strong connection with each patient. She strives to create a fun, relaxing environment that supports healing while providing an individualized, exceptional experience. Patients appreciate her attention to detail, ongoing education and ability to motivate them toward the best possible functional outcomes.

Michelle Sleighter, MPT, believes in providing thoughtful, individualized therapy based on each patient’s needs and goals. She pays close attention to detail during evaluations and when developing treatment and exercise programs, focusing on the specific limitations and challenges identified.
Michelle works closely with patients and values one-on-one interaction throughout the therapy process. She is committed to helping patients feel heard, supported and confident as they work toward improved strength, mobility and function.
Outside of Her Work
Outside of work, Michelle enjoys staying active and making physical fitness part of her daily life. She enjoys exercise classes, hiking, biking and running, as well as traveling, listening to live music and dining out.
Michelle lives in West Fenwick and spending quality time with her mother is an important part of her life outside of work.
