About Dr. Holt

Patrick Holt, MD, PhD, FAAOS, is a fellowship-trained hand surgeon who cares for patients with hand, wrist and elbow conditions at TidalHealth Peninsula Orthopaedic Institute. He specializes in nerve decompression surgery, trauma and complex reconstruction, using the latest advances in hand and microvascular surgery to help restore form, function and quality of life.

Dr. Holt sees patients in Salisbury, Berlin and Seaford and is one of only a few fellowship-trained hand surgeons on the Lower Eastern Shore. Having grown up in Annapolis, Maryland, he is proud to serve communities across Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.

Dr. Holt completed a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at Duke University and his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Utah. He earned his MD and PhD in medicine, biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Louisville. He also holds an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and a master’s degree in biotechnology with a focus in bioinformatics from The Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Holt is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His primary goal is to restore function and improve each patient’s quality of life. He takes time to listen, understand each patient’s needs, make an accurate diagnosis and develop an individualized treatment plan based on their lifestyle, goals and daily demands.

Dr. Patrick Holt believes in providing comprehensive, individualized care for patients with hand, wrist and elbow conditions. He uses both nonsurgical and surgical treatment options to create a personalized plan that aligns with each patient’s goals, lifestyle and needs.

Dr. Holt works closely with a team of experienced therapists to provide collaborative care that supports recovery and helps optimize outcomes. Throughout the care journey, he prioritizes communication, education and partnership, making sure patients feel informed, supported and confident in their treatment plan every step of the way.
