TidalHealth Peninsula Regional Celebrates 125th Anniversary
On Oct.1, 1897, in a simple yellow-and-white framed home on the corner of Fitzwater and Main streets in Salisbury, Dr. Todd changed the course of healthcare forever on Delmarva. Dr. Todd knew a growing population could not afford to travel by coach or train to Baltimore or Washington, D.C., for medical attention. His vision was a new six-bed facility to care for people living east of the Chesapeake Bay. It was called Peninsula General Hospital.
