When should I have a colonoscopy?

At TidalHealth, our team recommends colonoscopy screening for people 45 years of age and older. It is most often done to screen for colorectal cancer. Finding colorectal cancer early makes it much more treatable and can save lives.

What is capsule endoscopy and when is it used?

Capsule endoscopy is a non-invasive imaging test that helps our team examine the small intestine. At TidalHealth, we use the PillCam, a small capsule with a camera, to find problems that other tests might miss. This test is usually recommended if you have symptoms that don’t have a clear cause after other tests.

What should I do to prepare for my GI procedure?

Each GI procedure comes with specific instructions, and following them helps ensure your test is safe and accurate. If you have any questions or concerns about your instructions, our team is here to help and support you.
