Progress at the Nylon Capital Center
Revitalizing Seaford’s west side
Construction is in progress at the 22-acre Nylon Capital Center property, located at 1023 W. Stein Highway in Seaford, Delaware.
Several projects are in progress on the property, including site work, demolition, framing, roofing and siding. City of Seaford Mayor Matt MacCoy shares updates regularly with the community on the progress.
The center aims to create a diverse mix of education, healthcare, coworking and retail spaces for the Seaford community and greater Sussex County area. TidalHealth joins other prominent anchor tenants coming to the site, including Delaware Technical Community College, The Mill and BrightBloom Center. Dollar Tree and Sal’s Italian Restaurant have continued to serve the community in their existing spaces during construction. Community Bank Delaware was the first business to open in a newly renovated area of the center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 7.
TidalHealth’s new state-of-the-art +/-22,000 sq. ft. healthcare facility will be located in the heart of the campus, overlooking the shared campus green and pickleball courts. It is scheduled to open in spring 2026 and will house several services, including orthopedics, medical imaging services, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
“TidalHealth has a more than 70-year healthcare commitment to this community, and we remember the Nylon Capital Shopping Center at its grandest,” said Penny Short, MSM, BSN, RN, vice president of TidalHealth and president of TidalHealth Nanticoke. “We’re excited to be the healthcare partner in the continued rebirth and economic transformation of this once thriving space. Getting well and staying well are essential components of everyone’s life, and it’s so important for the TidalHealth family to have that presence, working alongside our clinical and educational partners to reimagine this shopping complex as a state-of-the-art, revolutionary innovation center.”
