Charlese Smithson, MSN, FNP-C, earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Walden University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland.
She has 20 years of comprehensive patient care experience as a registered nurse at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, with a background in medical-surgical care, rapid response and critical care, and vascular access procedures.
Smithson is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Association of Vascular Access, and she serves as the elected president of the Association of Vascular Access Foundation. She is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, holds a vascular access certification, and is certified by the American Heart Association in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support, and pediatric advanced life support.
She has extensive experience training nurses and medical residents in needle-guided and ultrasound-guided procedures.
