Scott Gelman

Scott Gelman, MD, FAAOS, helps lead the joint replacement program at TidalHealth Peninsula Orthopaedic Institute. He specializes in adult reconstruction, including hip and knee replacement, with special interests in anterior hip replacement, robotic joint replacement, partial knee replacement, rapid recovery, advanced pain control and complex revision surgery for failed hip and knee replacements.

Dr. Gelman believes in providing world-class, cutting-edge joint replacement care close to home. His approach is individualized and patient-centered, with a focus on helping each patient return to their highest level of function.

He believes treatment decisions should be made with the same care and consideration he would give to a family member or neighbor.

Dr. Scott Gelman believes in staying at the forefront of both surgical and nonsurgical treatment options while caring for patients like neighbors. He works closely with each patient to understand their needs, goals and lifestyle, and to develop a treatment plan that feels right for them.

Throughout the care journey, Dr. Gelman is committed to making sure patients feel informed, respected, heard and supported. 

Outside of his practice

Outside of work, Dr. Gelman loves living near the beach and spending time with his wife and three children. Together, they enjoy fishing, swimming, tent camping and pushing through CrossFit-style workouts.
