Today, we recognize Natasha Smith, CCMA, of TidalHealth Gynecology & Prenatal Care and TidalHealth Atlantic. She was nominated by Dr. Christine Neto for her pleasant demeanor, constant smile, and ability to motivate her team to work efficiently and help patients feel at ease.
Smith has worked for more than a decade as a medical assistant at TidalHealth Gynecology & Prenatal Care. She also serves as a registrar in TidalHealth Atlantic’s emergency department. Smith says she stays motivated — and helps keep her teammates motivated — because she works with exceptional people in both departments.
At TidalHealth Gynecology & Prenatal Care, she describes the team as a close, supportive group that constantly checks in with one another. Team members offer help throughout the day, creating an encouraging environment that Smith says she’s grateful to be part of. In the emergency department, the pace can shift quickly from calm to hectic, but the teamwork remains steady. She says both teams feel like a second home.
Smith says working in health care is deeply rewarding, especially in women’s health. She works closely with Dr. Neto as her medical assistant and surgical scheduler. She recalls an elderly patient whose kindness made a lasting impression; after a minor procedure revealed cancer, Smith reassured them that the team would be there every step of the way. The patient later had surgery and has been thriving since. Smith says moments like these — when she can support someone emotionally or physically — mean the world to her.
Smith’s dedication to her patients and her teams reflects the compassion and resilience that define TidalHealth. Whether she is offering comfort during a difficult diagnosis or supporting fast‑paced work in the emergency department, her commitment helps strengthen the care experience for everyone she serves. As we enter this new chapter, team members like Smith continue to move our mission forward through their consistency, kindness and unwavering support for others.
