Join TidalHealth for events dedicated to raising breast cancer awareness and fostering a sense of empowerment within our communities.
The Salisbury, Md. based healthcare system will be hosting two breast cancer community awareness celebrations in both Salisbury (September 26) and Seaford, Del. (September 27) from 7 to 8 pm each night. The Salisbury event will be held outside the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. The Seaford event will begin at the Allen Cancer Center with a short walk to Gateway Park where the festivities will be conducted.
Breast center affects millions of lives every year, touching families, friends, and individuals across the globe and here on the Delmarva Peninsula. 300,000 women in the United States will be told this year that they have breast cancer. It is the second leading cancer killer next to lung cancer of wives, mothers, grandmothers, and all women.
TidalHealth’s community breast cancer awareness events will bring attention to the importance of early detection, prevention, and support for those battling cancer. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with local cancer experts in the field and access valuable resources.
Both events are open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you're a survivor, a caregiver, or simply interested in learning more about breast cancer, this event offers a platform for education, engagement, and empowerment.
"We believe that by coming together as a community, we can make a significant impact in raising awareness about cancer and promoting a healthier, more informed society," said Stacy Giles, Executive Director of Cancer Services at TidalHealth. "Through knowledge-sharing and support, we can work towards a future where breast cancer becomes less of a daunting challenge."
Free parking will be provided at each location. The events will culminate with both of TidalHealth’s cancer centers being lit in pink in celebration of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
