Gastroenterology Fellowship

Welcome to TidalHealth’s Gastroenterology Fellowship Program. We appreciate your interest in joining us, and congratulations on completing your residency journey. Our hospital, with roots dating back to 1897 as Peninsula General Hospital, proudly transitioned to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in 2020. The health system is well-known for clinical excellence and has been recognized with national awards.

Our Goal

The TidalHealth Gastroenterology Fellowship Program is committed to training highly competent clinicians to work in underserved areas, such as our community. General gastroenterology training is provided at TidalHealth hospitals and office locations. For five months out of the three years, training will be provided at Johns Hopkins Hospital through our affiliated program agreement. We are committed to training those underrepresented in the field, including women and minorities, and utilize recruitment and selection processes that attract fair and diverse candidates.

The program will graduate highly efficient physicians with procedural and clinical skills who will fulfill best practices and standards in the field of gastroenterology. They will also be able to fulfill the future needs of leaders in this field. The program’s goals align with TidalHealth’s mission to improve the health of the communities we serve by instilling in our fellows the importance of providing high-quality care to all patients.

Welcome From Our Program Director

The TidalHealth Gastroenterology Fellowship Program aims to train highly skilled clinicians to be proficient in procedural and clinical gastroenterology, with a focus on underserved areas, diversity and meeting future needs of the profession.

We at the TidalHealth Gastroenterology Fellowship Program welcome you for your interest in joining us.

We will achieve our goal through a thoughtful curriculum incorporating general gastroenterology and hepatology, with a rotation of five months in the three-year period at Johns Hopkins Hospital. We have robust clinical research opportunities through the TidalHealth Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute.

We offer two positions of our Gastroenterology Fellowship per year. We have clinical and procedural rotations at our nearby affiliated hospitals and outpatient endoscopy centers.

I invite you to review the Gastroenterology Fellowship website.
