Transitional Year Residency

The Transitional Year Residency at TidalHealth provides a comprehensive and supportive first-year training experience designed to build a strong foundation in a variety of clinical settings. Residents rotate through key disciplines including internal medicine, surgery, emergency care, and specialty areas, gaining essential skills that prepare them for advanced training in their chosen fields.

Our Goal

The TidalHealth Transitional Year Residency is dedicated to offering residents a comprehensive 12-month training experience in which residents will be equipped with the skills and education necessary to seamlessly transition into a categorical training program following their transitional year.

This program ensures exposure to the various complexities of patient care across diverse healthcare settings, including inpatient, emergency and ambulatory settings. Residents will learn to function effectively within a healthcare team, and they will benefit from valuable training experiences provided by faculty members with diverse skill sets and teaching techniques.
