• Develop board-certified and knowledgeable nephrologists who are prepared to care for diverse patients with varying severities of nephrology diseases.

Application procedure

Applications are coordinated through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). All applicants should submit their completed application through ERAS. Our fellowship program will begin reviewing completed applications June 4. More information and applications may be found on the ERAS website. Applications will be accepted until Sept. 15. The TidalHealth Nephrology Fellowship can be found in ERAS under the ACGME #1482314001.

Required Documentation 

• Three letters of recommendation (one from program director or dean of medical school)
• Curriculum vitae (CV)
• Personal statement
• Dean's letter/Medical School Performance Evaluation (MSPE)
• Official transcripts from all post-secondary medical schools you have attended.
• Photo identification (a valid government-issued license (photo ID) or passport.
• Evidence of scholarly activity: Research projects, publications or similar academic contributions
• Any additional documentation as requested

All qualified applications will be reviewed and considered on a case-by-case basis

• Successful completion of medical school in three years, or the minimum time required for the degree.
• USMLE or COMLEX Step 1, 2 and 3 score required; minimum score of 220  
• Certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (for international medical graduates only)
• Documentation of United States citizenship, permanent residency, or lawful status
• Clinical experience of working in the United States is preferred
• Graduation from medical school within the last five years; if more than five years, must provide documentation of proven clinical work 

• Internal medicine residency
  • Domestic applicants: Three years of ACGME-accredited internal medicine training.
  • International applicants: Two years of internal medicine and one year of house job training.
• Licensure requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain a medical license in Maryland and Delaware
