Dawson embodies the heart of the cancer center, creating an atmosphere of comfort, compassion, and reassurance from the moment patients and families walk through the doors. She consistently goes above and beyond by anticipating needs, offering unwavering support, and ensuring every person feels genuinely seen, heard and respected. With remarkable dedication, she steps in wherever needed, using her patience, kindness and positive spirit to make even the hardest days a little easier.
Professional Services: Stephanie Benton, Respiratory Therapy
Stephanie Benton of Respiratory Therapy is TidalHealth Nanticoke’s 4th Quarter 2025 Team Member of the Quarter for Professional Services.
Benton exemplifies a dedicated, team-centered respiratory therapist, consistently supporting colleagues by assisting with workload, taking extra shifts, offering guidance, and helping troubleshoot challenges with a positive and dependable attitude. As a fair and steady charge therapist, she fosters trust and collaboration while ensuring the department runs smoothly, all while taking initiative on behind-the-scenes tasks that keep operations organized and efficient. Her compassion, professionalism, and commitment to high-quality patient care make her an invaluable asset to both her team and the patients she serves.
Nursing Services: Shelby Miller, Medical-Surgical Unit
Shelby Miller, RN, of the Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) is one of TidalHealth Nanticoke’s 4th Quarter 2025 Team Members of the Quarter for Nursing Services.
Miller exemplifies a dedicated and compassionate nurse, consistently providing precise, patient-focused care while striving for excellence in every aspect of her work. She consistently goes the extra mile, whether volunteering for committees, attending conferences for new ideas, stepping up during staffing shortages, or expanding her skills through certifications like ultrasound IV insertion. Known for her dependability and team spirit, Miller frequently adjusts her schedule to support the unit, making her not only an exceptional nurse but also a kind, reliable coworker who strengthens the entire MSU team.
Nursing Services: Madeline Burdette, Progressive Care Unit
Madeline “Maddie” Burdette, RN, of the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is one of TidalHealth Nanticoke’s 4th Quarter 2025 Team Members of the Quarter for Nursing Services.
Burdette is known for her nonstop energy and quick response, often being the first to answer call bells or alarms with purpose, focus, and genuine commitment to patient well-being. She consistently provides exceptional care not only to her own patients but also to her coworkers' patients, who know they can rely on her at any time. Her enthusiasm, compassion, and unwavering reliability make her a joy to work with and an invaluable member of the PCU.
