We recruit one infectious disease fellow each year for our fellowship program, which has a duration of two years.
TidalHealth’s Infectious Disease Fellowship provides excellent clinical training for our fellows, who handle a wide range of complex and even rare infectious diseases with extensive pathology. The infectious disease cases in our communities on the Eastern Shore are distinctive, often influenced by our diverse demographics and warmer marine environmental conditions.
Fellows will gain hands-on experience in managing cases on the medical units at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional with additional clinical training at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Luminis Health Anne Arundel Hospital, the Wicomico County Health Department and Nemours Children's Hospital during the second year of fellowship.
Our program objectives include:
- Provide fellows with knowledge and hands-on experience in diagnosing, managing and preventing infectious diseases.
- Foster research skills in clinical and epidemiological sciences with opportunities to engage in infectious disease research.
Sincerely,
Areej Khan, MD
Program Director
