Outpatient Surgical Services
At TidalHealth, we provide outpatient surgical care in a safe, supportive environment, working closely with you and your physician. Using advanced technology and minimally invasive techniques — such as laparoscopy and robotic surgery — we aim to help you recover quickly and return to your daily routine with less pain and downtime. Our staff is dedicated to making your experience as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
What We Offer
We provide a broad range of outpatient surgical services, including general and specialty surgeries. Many procedures use minimally invasive approaches, which mean:
- Smaller incisions
- Less pain
- Faster recovery
Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery
These surgeries often involve just a few small incisions and a high-definition camera. Our surgeons use advanced equipment like the daVinci Surgical Robot and laparoscopic tools. Benefits include:
- Less discomfort after surgery
- Shorter hospital stays and earlier discharge
- Lower risk of complications
- Faster return to normal activities
A Personal Approach
Every patient is treated with respect, warmth, and compassion. We answer your questions, address concerns, and support you and your loved ones throughout your outpatient surgery experience. Your comfort, safety, and well-being are our top priorities.
How do I prepare for my outpatient surgery?
Your physician will review your procedure, including risks and benefits. You will complete a pre-anesthesia questionnaire, which a nurse will review beforehand. Be sure to share any health concerns, medications, or allergies. Our staff will also contact you about insurance and answer your questions.
What should I bring on the day of surgery?
- Two forms of identification, including a photo ID
- Health insurance cards
- Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing for going home
Do not eat or drink after midnight unless instructed otherwise. Avoid jewelry and valuables, and follow all instructions from your care team.
Can my family stay with me before my procedure?
Yes. One or two family members or significant others may stay with you in the Day Surgery Unit before your procedure.
What happens after my surgery?
You will be monitored in the recovery area, where your blood pressure and pain levels are checked. Medications and care are provided to keep you comfortable. Before going home, a nurse will review home care instructions with you and a family member or friend.
What should I do when I get home?
- Do not operate heavy machinery or make important decisions for 24 hours
- Avoid alcohol and do not mix it with pain medications
- Take pain medicine exactly as prescribed
- Do not drive while taking pain medication
Following these instructions supports a safer, more comfortable recovery.
