Donate Life Month

April is Donate Life Month, and TidalHealth was pleased to participate to raise awareness about the importance, and the need, of donation as TidalHealth team members are committed to saving and healing lives through organ, eye and tissue donation.  

In 2024, TidalHealth Peninsula Regional worked with Infinite Legacy to facilitate 51 organ, eye and tissue donors and 42 organ transplants. These gifts will save and heal hundreds of lives. In addition, there were 18 donors-in-spirit, who intended to be donors; however, their organs or tissues were deemed not viable or transplantable.

At TidalHealth Nanticoke, we partnered with the Gift of Life Donor Program to facilitate one organ donor and 14 tissue donors in 2024.

There is a critical need for organ donors, as more than 100,000 people in the United States are currently waiting for a lifesaving transplant. And just one organ, eye and tissue donor can save and heal more than 75 lives.
