On June 5, 2023, the Maryland High School Rodeo Association (MDHSRA)'s 2022-2023 Lil Miss Ally Gray stopped by The Giving House to present a donation of toys for Brooke’s Toy Closet. Ally held toy drives during two MDHSRA spring rodeos in Union Bridge and Princess Anne, Md. to accomplish her final goal as ‘22-’23 Lil Miss.
Brooke’s Toy Closet at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and TidalHealth Nanticoke provides new toys to children in the ER and Pediatric Units that they get to keep and take home upon discharge.
Ally noted the importance of this program: “I wanted to do a toy drive to bring smiles to the faces of all the sick and hurt kids. I have received a toy or two from Brooke's Toy Closet when I have had to visit the hospital before. With the help of my rodeo family and rodeo fans, I was able to collect 155 toys! The smiles these toys will bring to those children during a scary time makes all of this worth it."
