Impact across Delmarva

In FY25, 650 donors from 25 states contributed $4,147,856 to support healthcare on Delmarva, benefiting 45 funds that advance patient care and strengthened vital service lines across the TidalHealth system.

SPARK campaign ignites success

Launched in Fall 2023, the SPARK Campaign surpassed its $5 million goal by raising more than $6.64 million by June 30, 2025, to support Graduate Medical Education at TidalHealth — fueling program growth, expanding opportunities for future physicians, and advancing healthcare across our region.

The Drive for Mobile Mammography

Thanks to this incredible generosity and overwhelming spirit, as of June 30, 2025, a total of $978,393 had been raised toward the $1 million goal of The Drive for Mobile Mammography. The mobile mammography unit is on track to arrive in October 2025, ensuring expanded access to screenings and earlier detection for countless women and families in our region.

Honoring a legacy of surgical excellence

On Sept. 17, 2024, TidalHealth Peninsula Regional honored the legacy of surgical pioneer and longtime Foundation Board member Dr. Nevins W. Todd, Jr. with the unveiling of the Dr. Nevins W. Todd Center for Surgical Excellence, celebrating his lifetime of leadership, generosity, and dedication to advancing healthcare on the Eastern Shore.

Funding the future of healing

The growing TidalHealth Graduate Medical Education program is preparing physicians to meet the needs of our region — and many are choosing to continue their careers right here at TidalHealth.

In 2022, the Graduate Medical Education program included one residency. Now, it encompasses 17 accredited residencies and fellowships — and it’s still growing. There are now 90 residents and fellows advancing their medical education at TidalHealth.

Five of the 10 members of the inaugural TidalHealth Internal Medicine Residency graduating class are still caring for patients here.

Juwairiya Shuroog, MD, and Adam Stern, DO, are working as hospitalists at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

Karinnet Montero-Diaz, MD, cares for patients at the TidalHealth Edward Q. Wilgus Community Clinic in Salisbury and as part of her role, she teaches residents.

Ahmad Nawid Nawa, MD, and Umme Ferdaush, MD, are both with TidalHealth Primary Care. Dr. Nawa is based in Salisbury and Dr. Ferdaush is based in Georgetown.

CNA training program hits milestone at AGH

In June 2025, Atlantic General Hospital (AGH)’s certified nursing assistant (CNA) training program hit a historic milestone of 25 graduates. Of those, 23 went on to become employed by the health system.

In 2024, the Maryland Hospital Association reported a 10.5 percent vacancy rate for nursing assistant positions at hospitals across the state. Through CNA training programs, TidalHealth and AGH are helping to build a pipeline of qualified caregivers to provide high-quality care right here on Delmarva.
